Vegelox at Aux Vivres
Everytime I go at Aux Vivres on st-laurent, I really enjoy buying few goodies to bring back home. Actually, you can buy almost everything that is on the menu to go. I like bringing back their famous vegelox, a combinaison of shedded carotts, liquid smoke, dulse, parsil, lemon juice, and olive oil. It taste amazingly good. It is supposed to taste like smoked salmond, bit i would say it taste even better to me.
you can use it everywhere, espacially with vegan cream cheese on a bagel or in whatever sandwich of your choice. I also enjoy eating it like that, with crakers!
What is your favorite food to bring back from aux Vivres?
You can also try to make your own at home.
- 1 cup of shredded carrots (they actually use the pulp left from their juice blender)
- 15 mL lemon juice
- 60 mL fresh parsil
- 1/2 red onion
- 10 mL dry Dulse
- 5-6 drops of liquid smoke
- Caper to taste
- Olive oil
Mix all the ingredients, and enjoy.
Here with slice of grilled tofu. Pretty good indeed!
